New Parliament House
Parliament House, often referred to as the temple of democracy, has undergone a redesign after 96 years to enhance its majestic presence. The construction work on Parliament House has now been finished, and today, on May 28, 2023, Prime Minister Modi officially inaugurated and dedicated the newly revamped building. The first Parliament House was completed in 1927 with just the most basic facilities available at the time. However, the insufficiency of various aspects has become obvious over time. Recognizing this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the groundwork for the construction of a new Parliament building on December 10, 2020.
The country now has a new parliament building, which Prime Minister Modi dedicated with a rigorous commitment to law and order. Seating for 888 Lok Sabha members and 384 Rajya Sabha members is available in the newly designed edifice. The presentation of the new parliament has been accompanied by intense political debate inside the country, culminating in the majority of the opposition being conspicuously absent from the inauguration event.
PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Parliament Building-
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived at the new Parliament House for the inaugural event. The event started with a pooja that lasted nearly an hour. Significantly, Adhyanams from other Tamil Nadu Maths have already arrived here. The worship of Havan began here. The Prime Minister will present the country with the new Parliament.
Havan was performed to commemorate the opening of the new Parliament building. PM Modi took part in the devotional program, complete with rites, amidst the singing of mantras. During this time, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla sat alongside him in the havan-puja for the new Parliament House’s opening. This havan-puja ceremony lasted nearly an hour. The recitation of the Adhyanam saint from Tamil Nadu finished the Havan rite.
History and Meaning of Sengol-
Whenever there was a coronation of a king in the Chola Empire, an instrument called Sengol was used at the time of coronation Sengol is a sign of authority, therefore whenever one monarch passed over power to another, he would gift sen.

Following the havan, PM Modi worshipped in front of Sengol. After Sengol was installed in Parliament House, PM Narendra Modi got the blessings of many Adhyanam Saints from Tamil Nadu. Unique materials from throughout the country have been collected for the construction of the country’s new Parliament building. Teak wood from Nagpur, sandstone from Sarmathura in Rajasthan, carpet from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh, bamboo wood from Agartala, and the Ashoka sign from Aurangabad and Jaipur in Maharashtra are just a few examples.
The priests of Adhyanam Math presented Sengol to Prime Minister Modi at the new Parliament building. After religious rites, Adhyanam saints presented Sengol to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who put it in the new Parliament House. Unique Interior View-
Sculptures and artwork from various sections of the nation will be displayed in six gates and public highways, according to authorities. There will also be glimpses of creatures revered in India, such as Garuda, Gaj, Ashwa, and Magar. Having stated that there will be three galleries that will take you from the historical to the present eras of India.
According to reports, the new Parliament House would include three new gates called Gyan Dwar, Shakti Dwar, and Karma Dwar. Aside from that, it has been reported that the future Parliament building may be given a name. The structure will also house granite statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Bhimrao Ambedkar, Sardar Patel, and Chanakya.
The new Parliament’s most notable feature is its Constitution Hall, which is positioned in the center of the structure. It has Ashoka Stambh mounted on it, and it is stated that a copy of the constitution would be preserved in this hall, as well as a large portrait of notable Prime Ministers like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Subhash Chandra Bose.
Several efforts were made to reduce air and noise pollution during the building of the new Parliament House. Tell me, there will be a separate office for each MP, and their office will have a new computer interface to make it a paperless office. A majestic Constitution Hall, a lounge for Members of Parliament, a library, a dining hall, and parking will also be included in the new structure.
The new Parliament House can accommodate 888 Lok Sabha members and 300 Rajya Sabha members; if both Houses convene at the same time, 1,280 MPs would be able to sit here. In the current Parliament House, seating arrangements have been constructed for 550 Lok Sabha members and 240 Rajya Sabha members.
Dignitaries Present-
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as well as all cabinet ministers and chief ministers from other states, are present in the new Parliament’s Sarvadharma Sabha. Religious representatives from several religions, including Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and Sikh, gave prayers during an all-religion meeting. Before this, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal remarked on the new Parliament House’s opening, “It is a historic day when the Prime Minister will dedicate a new and modern Parliament House to the country.” I thank the Prime Minister for realizing the desires of all Indians.
